Shocking moment two ‘British tourists’ were run over and seriously injured in Magaluf ‘by another Brit who had a fight with a man after their girlfriends had a fight’
- The 29-year-old suspect was arrested after a short chase
A British tourist has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a horrific hit-and-run accident at Magaluf Resort in Majorcan.
The holiday maker was pictured cutting down two pedestrians, also believed to be visitors from the UK, in a rental car after an argument outside a nearby fast food restaurant on Thursday morning.
Footage published by Al Jazeera newspaper Ultima Hora today showed that the suspect appeared to be deliberately driving his car in the direction of a group of people standing on the sidewalk and knocking over two men while flying.
Three pedestrians—a woman they were talking to and two men about two feet away—saw the oncoming car and narrowly avoided clipping it as the car quickly approached and swerved into them.
Bystanders noticed that an oncoming vehicle was speeding towards the sidewalk and sped to safety

One of the victims was left unconscious on the dock and they were taken to a private hospital in Palma, the island’s capital.
It was not immediately clear if they remained in hospital this morning, although it is believed that their injuries are not serious despite the severity of the impact.
The horror incident occurred after four in the morning on Thursday.
Local reports said the suspect had previously rowed with a British man whose girlfriend got into a riot with his partner.
He is said to have left the scene in a rage before returning minutes later behind the wheel, onto the sidewalk and ramming his victims.
It is not yet known if the man he had argued with moments earlier was one of the two he had injured.
