British tourist, 52, arrested after ‘killing motorcyclist father of two when he made a U-turn on the road’ in Greece

A British tourist has been arrested in Greece after reports said he tried to make a U-turn and struck and killed a person on a passing motorbike.
The 52-year-old Briton, who has not been identified for legal reasons, is said to have hit the 42-year-old man head-on with his car yesterday.
The Briton was said to have been attempting a U-turn in the middle of the road and struck the motorcyclist.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. Thursday outside a fire station near the town of Prosilio on the Kalamata-Areopolis highway that runs through the country’s southern coast.
Local reports said the motorcyclist, a father of two, died instantly.
The motorcyclist is believed to have been returning home to southern Kalamata (pictured) on his motorbike after work.
The father of two was a driver for an intercity bus company in Messina, a region in the southwestern part of the Greek Peloponnese region.
It is believed that he was returning home to southern Kalamata on his motorbike after work.
Western Mani Police said the collision occurred about 27 kilometers (17 miles) along the long stretch of road.
Police said the driver, who was headed for Areopoli further down the coast, got into the opposite flow of traffic.
Western Mani Township authorities confirmed that the 52-year-old British national was arrested.
Police said they would continue to investigate the fatal incident.
