British man sought by police for killing a bouncer with two children at a Spanish restaurant owned by a TOWIE celebrity.

Date:

Spanish police are hunting a British man after a doorman was killed while trying to break up a fight at the restaurant of former TOWIE star Elliott Wright.

Father-of-two Jose Rafael Pisano Pardo died in hospital on Sunday after sustaining serious injuries when he got involved in a fight at La Cala restaurant in Olivia in Marbella.

A 55-year-old Venezuelan bodybuilder fell unconscious on Saturday night and was taken in serious condition to a hospital in Malaga, Spain, where he was transferred to intensive care.

Informed sources said that he was declared brain dead and his life support system was stopped after he hit the back of his head. It is believed that he fell to the ground during attempts to dislodge one of the men involved in the quarrel.

Now, informed sources have confirmed that the British man was being pursued by police amid unconfirmed reports that Mr Pardew was pushed or beaten in the scuffle before losing his balance.

Mr. Wright closed his restaurant at La Cala de Mijas Resort yesterday and today following the death of Mr. Pardot. The reality TV personality said his “heart is broken” and his staff have “lost so many beloved and valuable members of our team.”

Mr. Pardo was the father of two adult children who are believed to have had a preexisting relationship. He married Romina Acuna, a personal trainer and gym instructor in Las Vegas, in November last year.

Ms Acuna called her new fitness fanatic husband the “love of my life” in an emotional social media post after they got married and posed for photos near a white stretch limousine.

She moved to Mijas on the Costa del Sol at the start of 2021 from her previous base in Barcelona and the couple enjoyed a holiday together in Chile before getting married.

A police investigation into Pardo’s death, led by Malaga’s Civil Guard, is still ongoing, but investigators confirmed last night that no arrests had been made yet.

Officers captured closed-circuit television footage from Wright’s Restaurant, which was damaged in an arson attack two years ago, on Sunday after interviewing employees.

The results of the autopsy, which is believed to have taken place yesterday, have not been released and are not expected to be made official. Instead, they will be sent to a coroner who is presiding over an ongoing judicial inquiry into Bardot’s death.

Local reports said the doorman hit his head on the corner of a table while trying to intervene in the fight.

But sources said he hit the back of his head directly on the floor, not on a table.

One of them said: ‘Local reports speak of a group of people fighting but it was between two people.

The doorman came down trying to get one of the two men out.

Another added: “Elliot had a wonderful relationship with the dead man and he’s devastated by what happened.

He worked for him for two years.

There was an argument between two people in the restaurant and he fell to the ground and hit his head after the intervention.

It appears he slipped after one of the men he was kicking pushed or punched him, but this is something the police are still investigating.

He landed awkwardly and hit his head as he fell backwards.

“It took about 45 minutes to an hour for the ambulance to arrive and he was taken to the hospital.”

Mr. Bardot has been working as a doorman at La Cala in Olivia for the past two years.

The source added, “He had brain swelling and brain damage due to lack of oxygen, and they said at the hospital that he was brain dead.

They shut down the machines on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, the police took all the camera footage away and retracted the statements of the employees.

In a statement released yesterday, Olivia’s La Cala said: “This weekend we lost a much loved and respected member of our team.

Our hearts are broken and we are closed today and tomorrow out of respect.

“We support our staff and family as we await news of further investigations.”

The restaurant, which opened in August 2015, has been forced to close until it can be rebuilt.

Television footage handed to police showed two masked men carrying jerrycans storming the site shortly before it caught fire.

The devastating fire occurred just five weeks after Mr. Wright’s father, Edward George, died of coronavirus.

At the time, Mr Wright said in an Instagram post after confirming the fire had been started deliberately: ‘I can now say it was arson.

Someone came and took my whole dream away, for what reason I will never know, because I don’t have any enemies as far as I know, I didn’t think I did.

“Whether it’s jealousy or competition, it really doesn’t matter.”
