British Love Is Blind star Sam Klein has revealed he “felt free” after undergoing a nose job as insecurities left him “constantly worried” about his appearance.
Sam, 31, underwent rhinoplasty surgery to reshape his nose three years before his appearance on the hit Netflix show.
He said: ‘For me everything has changed, I can go anywhere and feel comfortable.
“I don’t feel like everyone is looking at me from an angle that makes me feel uncomfortable.”
Sam continued: ‘It’s that constant worrying, ‘Did you get that picture of me where I’m on that side of my face?’
‘Or when I get married someday, please God, if I meet someone, I hope this helps.
‘That side angle of standing in front of the altar and having to have my nose to the side is something I dread and this is going to eliminate all of that.’
And when his new nose was discovered, Sam was overjoyed and exclaimed: “Wow! This is so amazing, I can’t explain it. It’s the strangest thing. I’m so happy, so happy that I feel like I need to celebrate.”
Eight weeks after the procedure, Sam checked in with him and talked about the mental change that had made the physical alteration possible.
She began: ‘The physical change is just one aspect and then you get to the other side and it’s the mental aspect of having something that’s been a stigma your whole life.
“I’m 29, almost 30 years old, and now I know that for the next 30 or 60 years I can live without that thing that always discourages me.”
Sam, who visited leading rhinoplasty surgeon Dr Onur Gilleard, was left speechless after undergoing the procedure as she described the transformation as “amazing” and confessed she now felt “free”.
She added: “I felt like I was holding myself back. I know a lot of people would say, ‘Oh no, it’s just a nose. ’ No. Now that I’ve had it done for how I look physically and mentally, I’m free. It’s an amazing feeling.”
Sam admitted that he used to be afraid of getting married because his nose was exposed when he stood at the altar.
“I felt like I was holding myself back. And I know a lot of people would say, ‘Oh no, it’s just a nose.'”
“Now that I have it made the way I see myself physically and mentally, I feel free. It’s an incredible feeling.”
