A British army officer hid under a bus for half an hour, while his colleague was reportedly beaten by four squaddies in a 3-hour fight in a picturesque Austrian village.
The four soldiers, 21 to 24 years old, approached their superiors, 34 and 38 years old, outside a restaurant in Neustift in the Stubai Valley, Tyrol, last Friday.
The Austrian state broadcaster ORF said they were beaten in the head and body, but the 38-year-old managed to break free and hide under the vehicle.
The 34-year-old, however, was withheld by the four and beaten rained down, the broadcaster said. He would have been beaten twice during the scrap.

The soldiers demanded that he tell them where the 38-year-old was staying, but the police arrived to end the fighting before things could escalate.
The two officers were treated during the attack for cuts and bruises.
None of the four soldiers could explain to the police why they had attacked the officers, but the police confirmed that they had all been drinking.
The four are being investigated for abuse and the police have confirmed that the British army had instituted disciplinary proceedings against them.
