EXCLUSIVE: British Airways Flight Attendant ‘Is Raped By British Expat During Layover In Barbados’
- The woman was allegedly raped in a hotel room before the flight back to Heathrow.
- Barbados Police investigate the incident and search for the suspect.
A British Airways flight attendant was allegedly raped in her hotel room during a layover in Barbados, MailOnline can reveal.
The woman had spent the night drinking with crew members on the Caribbean island when a man she knew joined the group. She later invited the man, who lives on the island, back to her room, it goes without saying.
While there, the man raped her, according to her statement to local police, who have since said they are “actively investigating” the allegation, with the assailant facing arrest.
The flight attendant’s BA flight back to Heathrow from Barbados’ Grantley Adams Airport was delayed by 14 hours.

A Barbados police spokesperson told MailOnline that they are actively looking for the alleged rapist, who is believed to be known to the victim, who is believed to be an expat living on the island.
“This is an active investigation after an allegation of rape was made by a British Airways crew member,” said Deputy Commissioner Jefferson Clark.
‘We know the identity of the man and where he lives, but he is not at home. It’s a small island, and we’ll locate it. He is Caucasian, so most likely he is an expat.
Describing the events that took place earlier this year, the spokesman said the BA team had been drinking together at a karaoke bar.
They were joined in drinking by the man now wanted.
The police spokesman said: ‘She told us in her statement that she knew the man. She invited him back to his hotel room, but what happened was not consensual. There is an accusation of rape.
“This is being treated very seriously and we are seeking an arrest.”

A BA source said the entire team had enjoyed a night of karaoke at a bar near their five-star hotel before heading back to their rooms.
The police went to the luxury hotel where the victim was comforted by his companions.
She and four other crew members were asked to make detailed statements the morning after the incident and traveled to the Bridgetown police station.
A member of the British High Commission was present at the police station to offer his support.
BA pilots and flight attendants are advised not to allow others to share their room during overnight layovers.
A BA spokesman said: “This is a police matter and we are supporting our colleagues at this time.”
