If you were Damien Hirst’s girlfriend, what would you expect as a birthday gift?

A pickled shark in a tank, perhaps, or a butchered cow?

Well, Britain’s richest entertainer outdid himself by turning 30 with Sophie Cannell, who is heavily pregnant with their first child together.

Hirst, 58, presented the former ballet dancer with an extraordinary cake in the shape of her body, showing off her unborn baby.

He appears to have been inspired by his series of giant bronze sculptures showing the development of the fetus in the womb, called The Miraculous Journey.

The artist, who lives with Cannell in their £36million, 14-bedroom home in London’s Regent’s Park, is celebrating in Las Vegas.

“I wouldn’t want my birthday anywhere else,” he says.

Hirst has three adult children with his American ex-girlfriend, Maia Norman.

It is not known what gifts Hirst bought for Cannell, with whom he has been in a relationship for six years.

For her 29th birthday, he gave her more than 20 gifts wrapped in pink paper.
