Jason Holton from Camberley, Surrey, has been housebound for eight years and was close to death after almost suffering organ failure earlier.

Britain’s fattest man died from organ failure just days before celebrating his 34th birthday, his heartbroken mother has revealed.

Jason Holton from Camberley in Surrey had been housebound for eight years due to his 47 stone frame.

The 33-year-old died last Saturday after doctors were unable to stop his organs from failing.

His mother Leisa told him Sun that he had “started going downhill” after his kidneys stopped working.

“He’s probably had about eight lives and I thought the doctors would be able to save him again, but unfortunately it wasn’t possible,” he said.

After his crane evacuation in October 2020, his mother Leisa (pictured together when Jason was a child) told MailOnline that her son gained weight after developing some mental health problems.

Jason was reportedly taken from his home to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in a special ambulance to which he had to be transferred by six firefighters.

His mother said he was put on kidney dialysis and an intravenous drip, but his organs continued to fail.

Doctors then told him he would die within a week, he said, and he died Saturday.

The coroner’s report indicated that he died of organ failure and obesity.

Jason lived in a custom-built council bungalow fitted with specially reinforced furniture.

He hoped to be prescribed the Wegovy slimming vaccine, without which he feared he would die in 2025, and described his situation as a “time bomb”.

Previously, Jason had to be lifted from his third-floor apartment with a crane and 30 firefighters in a seven-hour operation, which saw structural engineers reinforcing the floor of his two-bedroom duplex in case it fell.

He told TalkTV in October: “I think time’s up for me in general.” I’m turning 34 now. I know I have to try something.

At his peak, he weighed more than 50 pounds and called himself “the fattest man in Britain.”

At one point, Jason was consuming 10,000 calories a day (four times the usual daily amount for a man), including doner kebabs for breakfast.

He was deemed too heavy for a gastric band. In 2022, she suffered a series of mini strokes and a suspected blood clot.

In 2020, he collapsed and a team of more than 30 firefighters and engineers had to be lifted by plane with a crane from his mother’s third-floor apartment.

He described the incident as “the most devastating moment of my life.” The scary thing about all of this was the number of people outside.

His health problems prevented him from working, so he had to receive benefits. His medical care is estimated to have cost the taxpayer hundreds of thousands of pounds.

She began overeating as a teenager and attributes bullying and mental health issues as the root cause of her weight gain.

His father’s death when he was just three years old also had a profound impact, he said.

He told TalkTV: “Maybe if I had my dad around, maybe there would be rules about what I eat and things that stop me from putting things in my mouth.”

‘Just eating constantly. Lamb meat for doner, I had a problem with energy drinks. I just decided to grab 15 cans of Monster and drink them all in one go.

He insisted that he had reduced his consumption and had been eating healthier, but that it had made little difference.

He said: “I’ve been making changes that I really have for the audience because of the way I’ve been, my diet now isn’t consistent with a lot of rubbish and I’m not changing.”

Holton is believed to have become the UK’s fattest man after the death of number 65 Carl Thompson in 2015.

The 33-year-old, from Dover, had been housebound for more than a year after doctors warned him he needed to lose 70 per cent of his body weight to survive.

When his mother died of a brain tumor in 2012, Thompson turned to junk food as a way to cope with his grief, even though he was already obese.

His weight went from 30 kilos to 65 in three years, leaving him unable to care for himself.

Unable to walk or even dress, he was bathed and cooked by a team of NHS carers. He died after suffering organ failure and sepsis.
