Hosted by Jack Whitehall, the Brit Awards 2021 will mark the first major indoor music event in over a year as bosses issue 2,500 free tickets to key employees.

The Brit Awards will take place in front of a live audience of 4,000 at The O2 in London, six days before the next phase of lockdown lifts.

The ceremony, which will be broadcast live on ITV, will celebrate the return to live music and nominee Dua Lipa has promised attendees that it will ‘be a night to remember’.

The indoor ceremony and live show will be part of the government’s scientific research program for events, and it will use enhanced testing approaches to explore how events can take place without the need for social distance after all restrictions are lifted on June 21.

Working closely with the government to adhere to safety guidelines, this means The BRITs will be the first live music show at The O2 in over a year, with 4,000 tickets up for grabs – just a fifth of its 20,000 capacity of the location.

The BRITs will play an important role in paving the way for the return of live music on a grand scale as the UK emerges from last year’s constraints.

Audience members will not have a social distance or be required to wear face cover in the arena, but they will have to follow existing government guidelines when traveling to the venue and abide by the rules set by the event organizers.

How are the BRIT Awards during the Covid pandemic?

The BRIT Awards 2021 will mark the UK’s first live music event since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The indoor ceremony and live show are part of the government’s research program for scientific events.

Improved testing approaches will explore how events can occur without the need for social distancing after all restrictions are lifted on June 21.

4,000 tickets were made available for the live ceremony, just one fifth of the venue’s 20,000 capacity, of which 2,500 were key employees.

The BRITs will play an important role in paving the way for the return of live music on a grand scale as the UK emerges from last year’s constraints.

Audience members will not have a social distance or be required to wear face cover once in the arena, although they are required in common areas such as the restroom or the main hall.

All attendees are allowed to purchase alcohol and concessions once in the O2 Arena.

Participants must also follow existing government guidelines when traveling to the venue and adhere to the rules set by the event organizers.

The rules require visitors to have proof of a negative lateral flow test result to enter the venue, and this test must be taken at an asymptomatic testing site within 36 hours of the ceremony.

Upon arrival at the site, all attendees will be asked to take a PCR test and another test five days after the ceremony

It is hoped that this will gather more evidence on indoor safety, reduced social detachment, and the removal of non-pharmaceutical interventions such as face coverings.
