A Brisbane mother who was hit by a truck on a busy highway has revealed what hurt her most was drivers insulting her when she just needed their help.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, was driving on the Pacific Highway near Beenleigh, southeast of Brisbane, when a semi-trailer merged behind her.

Dashcam footage of the incident shows the truck hit the right rear of his Kia Cerato, forcing it to the right before becoming stuck in the front of the truck.

The mother can be heard screaming in shock as she is pushed onto the highway before stopping in the middle of the road.

She expected other drivers to stop to help her as she was paralyzed with fear, but they hurled insults at her, she said.

A Brisbane mother whose car was hit by a truck on the Pacific Highway near Beenleigh (pictured) has revealed the worst part of the incident was the driver passing by.

The woman said a number of drivers rolled down their windows and shouted abuse at her as her car was mangled in the middle of a busy highway (pictured).

The mother said she looked at the wheels of the tractor-trailer and thought, “Please don’t pass me, please don’t pass me.”

Although the trauma of the incident left her afraid of driving on the highway, she said: “The hardest thing to deal with is that people don’t care.

“It could be your mother, it could be your best friends, it could be your daughter. Just have a little compassion,” she told 9News.

Dashcam footage of the incident shows the truck stopping shortly afterward, but she said the driver had been even less helpful.

The mother claims the first thing he said to her was: “You didn’t see my blinders,” adding: “He just didn’t seem bothered.”

Although she suffered no physical injuries in the incident, she has since undergone psychological therapy to overcome the emotional impact of the collision.
