Brisbane high school teacher charged with rape and sexual harassment

A high school teacher who allegedly used the social media app Snapchat to chat with a 14-year-old girl has been charged with rape and sexual harassment.

Jason Lee, 29, a high school teacher in Logan, Brisbane, was arrested on July 11.

A report was filed with police on July 10 and officers executed a search warrant at an address in Underwood the next day.

Lee was granted bail and has since been charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexually assaulting a girl under 16.

The teacher is alleged to have met the 14-year-old girl twice in June and used Snapchat to send messages to the teen.

Lee has been working full-time as a teacher since 2018.

Lee graduated from Queensland University of Technology in 2017.

The 29-year-old is due to appear again at Wynnum Magistrates’ Court on September 16.

Detectives have urged anyone who may have had a similar experience to come forward as they continue their enquiries.
