Brighton agree a four-year deal with summer free agent Mahmoud Dahoud

Brighton have agreed a four-year deal with free agent Mahmoud Dahoud following the midfielder’s departure from Borussia Dortmund – as clubs prepare to launch offers for Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister

Brighton, who have made offers for Moises Caicedo in recent days, have agreed terms on a four-year deal with free agent Mahmoud Dahoud, 27, after the German midfielder left Borussia Dortmund.

Three clubs are for Caicedo who is valued at around £80m while Liverpool try to secure a deal for Alexis Mac Allister.

Roberto De Zerbi’s Seagulls are attracting a lot of interest ahead of the summer window following their stellar Premier League campaign this term, as they finished sixth in the table and secured a Europa League spot last week.

With a handful of significant first-team stars vying to leave the club this summer, Brighton are eyeing several additions and have also discussed a potential deal for Livingston goalkeeper Brian Schwake.

The 21-year-old was training at Brighton last week and is out of contract this summer. It would cost a minimum compensation of around £250,000.

Meanwhile, Dahoud has made over 140 appearances for Dortmund, despite only playing 10 games this season after dislocating his shoulder last year.

The Syrian-born star joined Dortmund from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2017 in a deal struck while Thomas Tuchel was still in charge of the German giants.

Dahoud broke into the German setup in 2021, winning his first two caps against Turkey and the Czech Republic.

The Seagulls have already lured Watford striker Joao Pedro to the Amex this summer and are set to sign Liverpool veteran James Milner for free.
