Maybe it could be chalked up to method acting, but last week Renee Zellweger pulled off a flub as charming and quirky as anything the absent-minded Bridget Jones could pull off.
The Oscar winner returned to her London home only to discover that her keys wouldn’t fit in the front door. And after a few moments of confusion she realized her mistake: she was trying to enter the wrong house.
Mrs Zellweger, 55, has been staying in a magnificent £4million London home while filming the fourth installment of the hit film franchise, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.
Dressed casually in a black puffer jacket and an orange baseball cap, she initially seemed bewildered by his failed attempts to enter “her” rental property. But she soon realized her mistake and walked next to the right house.

Mrs. Zellweger tried to enter her keys at number 21 instead of her house at number 23.

The new film, which comes almost a quarter of a century after the first, Bridget Jones’s Diary, will see the title character play a single mother trying to raise two children following the death of her husband Mark Darcy, played by Colin Firth.
And this time the actress hasn’t been forced to gain weight, with sources saying her character’s concern about her weight will be “reset.”
A source said: ‘We will reflect more on what people think about body image these days. “Letting go of Bridget’s weight obsession is seen as the right thing to do.”

Released next Valentine’s Day, the new film will see Bridget enter the world of online dating and balance potential suitors, including a younger rock star (One Day’s Leo Woodall), a handsome physical education teacher (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and an intermittent love for a long time. Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant), who, as assumed, did not die in a plane crash.
A film source said: ‘Bridget has never had so many choices of men before. She is going to be brilliant.”
