A bride has been criticized for dictating what colors guests should wear for her special day, branding her wedding “beige”.

Florida’s Betti Adams has been detailing the lead-up to her wedding, including her homemade invitations, on Instagram.

But not everyone was happy to see that the bride-to-be included clothing instructions for her guests, even asking attendees to wear particular outfits that matched her color scheme.

Sharing an image of her husband gently painting four colors, including light pink and various shades of brown and black, she instructed guests on what to wear to fit the theme.

Explaining why her fiancé had to hand-paint each card, the bride-to-be revealed that “not a single printer” could capture her color scheme accurately enough.

However, the now viral video, which has racked up more than 9.1 million views, has not been well received by many online.

Several harsh critics flooded her comments section, criticizing the bride and her wedding, calling it “sad” and “beige.”

‘If you can’t stand the margin of error in printing, how are you going to react when someone’s dress is very similar but not exactly the same?’

A second wrote: “So not only are sad beige moms a big thing now but also sad beige weddings.”

“Expecting people to spend money on new outfits for their wedding color scheme is rude,” a third chimed in.

One furious viewer wrote: “This is so annoying your wedding will be f***ing awful.”

One woman added: ‘People need to elope more, who cares what your wedding guests dress?

“I hope you put as much thought into making the wedding fun for your guests as you did about controlling the shade of brown they wear,” another joked.

‘The trend of telling people what to wear needs to end.

“The people who attend your wedding are not puppets for your photographs,” said one viewer.

“I hope people refuse to attend that.”

According to news.com.au, the bride defended herself against the backlash, reasoning that neutral tones were her calm colors.

He added: ‘I didn’t tell anyone to buy anything. “We wanted our guests to match the wedding colors.”

Several people came to the bride’s defense, with many pointing out that color schemes have long been an integral part of most weddings.
