Brian Kilmeade Hosts Fox News Show Following Tucker Carlson’s Exit, Wishes Him “the Best”

Date:

Brian Kilmeade, a co-host on Fox & Friendsquickly addressed Tucker Carlson’s divorce from Fox News at the start of Monday’s show.

During what would have been the time slot of Carlson’s show, the political commentator began using the new name Fox News tonight saying, “As you’ve probably heard, Fox News and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways.”

Kilmeade then went on to “wish Tucker well. I am good friends with Tucker and always will be.”

On Monday, Fox News Media announced that it would say goodbye to its program host Tucker Carlson tonight, which aired at 8 p.m. on weeknights. It came as a surprise, as Carlson’s program would regularly rank as the most-watched show for the channel, and sometimes for all of cable television. It was not immediately clear what prompted the decision.

The company said in a statement: “Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and contributor.”

Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner also announced the former host’s departure from her program on Monday. She said she had some “news from within our Fox News family,” before reading the channel’s statement on the slot.

According to Fox, the show, which hosted its last episode with Carlson on Friday, will be filled in by guest hosts until a replacement is found for the show, now called Fox News tonight.

Carlson was scheduled to interview Republican presidential nominee Vivek Ramaswamy on Monday night, but Kilmeade went ahead with the interview.
