Aimee Palmitessa pleaded guilty to three counts of illegal sexual intercourse and was immediately sentenced to three years in the state prison on Thursday
A former private elite teacher in California did not advocate a competition in 2017 for having unlawful sex with a student, the attorney office in Los Angeles County announced.
Aimee Palmitessa, 47, entered her plea for three offenses of illegal sexual intercourse Thursday.
She was immediately sentenced to three years in the state prison to be served in local custody when she surrendered on May 1.
Palmitessa worked at Brentwood School for about nine years and the 17-year-old victim was once a student in one of her classes.
Palmitessa had sex with the teenage boy in the summer of 2017, the prosecutor said.
The victim told the authorities about the incidents and Palmitessa was arrested shortly thereafter.
Last August it was announced that the prestigious private school in LA was being charged with not protecting the male student against sexual encounters with the teacher.
Brentwood School – loved by the Hollywood A list – is accused of looking the other way, and in at least one case encouraged a student like John Doe to pursue a relationship with his teacher.
Palmitessa is shown in court in September, where she did not plead guilty to all 12 criminal charges, including seven counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, two counts of sodomy, two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object from a person under the age of 18 and one counting oral copulation of a person under 18 years of age

Palmitessa taught chemistry at the school with alumni of celebrities, including Adam Levine and Seth Rogan.
Multiple school workers would be familiar with Palmitessa's alleged abuse of power at the earliest stages, but instead of reporting it as required by law, she told her instead to stay away from the teenager, the Los Angeles reported Times.
The suit claimed that the school failed to properly control Palmitessa and claim compensation for sexual battery, fraud and negligence.
The school said earlier in a statement: "Despite the trial, we sympathize with the student and the family because of the pain this situation has caused them," said head of school Mike Riera.
The attacks on the teenager are supposed to have taken place between June 12 and August 11, 2017 according to ABC News.
Statement from Brentwood School
August 6, 2018
On August 18, last year, the Los Angeles police informed Brentwood School that Upper School teacher, Dr. Aimee Palmitessa, had been arrested on suspicion of inappropriate relationships with a student. We placed Dr. Palmitessa immediately on administrative leave and then confirmed that she would not return to school.
We took these shocking and disturbing accusations seriously and fully cooperated with investigators from the Los Angeles police station and the public prosecutor. We care a lot about our students and all aspects of their well-being, individually and collectively. That is why we worked closely with teachers and counselors to support our students, provide families with resources, assist their children in following their responses to the news, create special accommodations for the family involved, and provide updates for our entire school community.
In September, Brentwood School retained Julie Yanow to conduct an internal investigation, separate from the police investigation. The information collected by Mrs. Yanow was useful for the school's decision-making process and resulted in the school that Dr. Palmitessa divorced. It also led to better communication of the school's clearly formulated policy on limits and behavior, as well as additional training of teachers / staff.
The criminal proceedings against Dr. Palmitessa is still walking. However, the family has now filed a civil action against the school and we are evaluating it. The school's legal adviser will respond where necessary. Despite the dispute, we feel sympathy for the student and the family for the pain this situation has caused them. We remain committed to all our students and respect their privacy. We ask that you do the same.

Palmitessa was arrested on August 18 after being charged with crime, after showing explicit messages, photos, and videos to his family, who then informed the police, the authorities said.
The teenager revealed what happened after his father checked his location using a smartphone application and found that he was at Palmitessa's house in Hollywood, instead of in football practice, the suit said.
Palmitessa was then recorded on telephone conversations and begged the student not to share the details of their encounters, to threaten him and to talk about their sexual interactions, the court said.
Prior to that, the teacher was seen by other students who took Doe to a concert in August 2017.
The lawsuit states that Palmitessa & # 39; Do & # 39; seduced by becoming his advocate during a hearing with a school board where he would be disciplined because he was filmed by singing a song with the n-word on board a yacht in May 2016.
John Doe held out his hand to school coordinator Robert Jost, after Palmitessa grabbed his hands on the school quad in May 2017, the court case says.
Then he admitted that he loved an older woman and admitted that it was a teacher.
& # 39; It is noteworthy that Mr. Jost advised John Doe by encouraging the relationship & # 39 ;, arguing the case, claiming that Jost was the relationship of French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, who is 24 years older and his former French teacher.
& # 39; Jost & # 39; s advice changed the course of John Doe's life indelibly, & # 39; says the couple, adding that Jost has advised Palmitessa & # 39; keep away & # 39; from Doe, instead of reporting the situation.
The suit claims that others on the Brentwood School staff have witnessed the evolution of the relationship with a female colleague who advised Palmitessa to stay away & # 39; from Doe.
It is also claimed that school officials were aware of another male student bragging about sexual behavior with Palmitessa and that he was known to be in possession of & # 39; nude or partially nude & # 39; images of the teacher.
School officials in California are required by state law to report alleged sexual abuse of students to appropriate authorities, but no police reports have been made about these incidents, the trial says.
& # 39; Brentwood School failed in any way to meet their stated mission and core values regarding our student & # 39 ;, said Sean Walsh, speaking on behalf of Browne George Ross law firm.
Walsh referred to the school's stated core values, including trust, respect, responsibility, honesty and care.
& # 39; None of the principles mentioned was offered to our student and we wonder how many others have violated their confidence & # 39 ;, he said.
Riera said the school launched its own internal investigation, led by Julie Yanow, in September 2017, resulting in Palmitessa & # 39; s divorce.
The status of the process is currently unknown.
In its statement of August 2018, the school urged everyone to remain aware of the privacy of the Brentwood School community
She had sex with student summer 2017 and was arrested shortly after he told the authorities. Palmitessa was accused of having the student & # 39; seduced & # 39; by becoming his advocate during proceedings for honorary issues, which originates in the singing of the n-word in a song in 2016
The school charges up to $ 40,760 a year in tuition fees and is in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Los Angeles.
It is known for attracting celebrity stars. Reese Witherspoon & # 39; s daughter Ava, whose father is Ryan Phillippe attended the school and other famous alumni include Patrick Schwarzenegger, whose parents are former California governor Arnold and his ex-wife Maria Shriver, and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine.
Comedian Jonah Hill, Boy Meets World actor Ben Savage, and socialite Talita von Fürstenberg, who is the granddaughter of Diane von Fürstenberg, also attended the school.
Palmitessa is charged with 12 felony counts, including seven counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, two counts of sodomy, two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object from a person under the age of 18 and a count of oral copulation of a person under the age of 18.
She has not ordered guilty to all charges and remains free on a placed deposit of $ 230,000.
