Darlene Kollett is an expert at helping people recover from a case of the blues after a relationship ends.

She frequently shares advice on how to move on after getting your heart broken on her TikTok account, where she has more than 249,000 followers.

Most recently, Darlene took to the video-sharing platform to detail why regulating your nervous system while processing a breakup is crucial when it comes to healing, while uncovering practices that can help you increase your happiness while grieving the loss of your relationship. .

She captioned the viral video, which has so far racked up nearly 11,000 views: “Learning to regulate emotions after a breakup.”

‘If you’re going to get over a breakup, you need to become a master at self-soothing.

‘You have to know how to regulate your emotions every day. “You’ll want them to regulate your emotions for you, that’s why we search for exes so much after a breakup, we can’t do it ourselves, we don’t know how to calm ourselves,” he said at the beginning of the video.

The coach noted that although during a breakup it is difficult to find a “time to calm down,” it is crucial to moving forward.

Darlene explained that there are many techniques you can use, but you have to figure out what works for you.

He added: “It’s good to have a good cry, go out and do a little exercise; physical activity is essential for that, deep breathing is essential for that.”

“So start figuring out what works for you, what will calm you down, what will calm you down for just a second, that’s all we need sometimes.”
