A young girl suffered “serious injuries” following a shooting in Maryland and at least two nearby schools are closed.
The Prince George’s County Police Department said officers were on scene near Palamar Drive and Woodstream Drive in Lanham, a Washington DC suburb.
They described the situation as “active” and it is unclear if a suspect has been arrested.

“We are on the scene of a shooting near Palamar Dr and Woodstream Dr in Lanham,” the department said.
“Prelim: Female victim transported with critical injuries.
“Two nearby schools offering extracurricular activities – DuVal HS and Robert Goddard MS – are closed. Under investigation.
The victim’s age is not yet known, but police said she was a “minor,” according to BNC.
