The Metropolitan University of Toronto’s varsity men’s soccer team will continue its season as scheduled, the school announced Tuesday, following an investigation into alleged “concerning behavior” involving the team.
The school has not provided any details about what type of “behavior” prompted the investigation, which led to the team losing games earlier this year.
In a statement released Tuesday, the school said it “hired a third party to conduct a thorough, independent investigation” after receiving a “concerning” report about the team earlier this year. The statement does not specify the third party that carried out the investigation.
“The investigation has been completed and the results have been shared with the university. Based on the results, the men’s soccer season will proceed as planned,” the statement read.
“The university believes this matter is resolved. To protect the privacy and confidentiality of all involved, the university will not provide further comment or release details of the independent investigation.”
