An investigation was launched after a member of Congress United States House of Representatives pulled a fire alarm as his party tried to delay a crucial funding vote this weekend.
Democrat Jamaal Bowman said it was an accident.
His party wanted more time to decide whether it would support him and his opponents accused him of trying to disrupt the vote.
The bill to avoid a federal government shutdown ultimately passed, keeping the government open for another 45 days.
