Health Canada approved Moderna’s updated COVID-19 vaccine for all Canadians aged six months and older.

The mRNA-based injection is monovalent and targets the Omicron XBB.1.5 subvariant.

“It can be administered to people who have been previously vaccinated or who have not been previously vaccinated,” read Health Canada’s page on Moderna vaccines.

Federal officials will provide a technical briefing on COVID-19 vaccines Tuesday morning.
