Tragedy as Brazilian fitness influencer, 30, is shot dead in front of her husband and young son in alleged robbery attempt
A fitness influencer mother was shot dead in front of her family in an alleged robbery attempt.
Luanne Murta Jardim dos Santos Martins was with her husband and their two-year-old son, Miguelzinho, when the suspects approached their family car and opened fire.
The 30-year-old, who had over 350,000 Instagram followers, was hit in the shoulder and the bullet went through her heart.
Luanne, who documented her weight loss on social media, was shot and killed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on the evening of May 21.
The victim was rushed to the municipal hospital Salgado Filho de Méier, but succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival.

Police investigated the shooting as an attempted robbery.
The victim’s father, Atanael Jardim dos Santos, believes his daughter was targeted.
He said his daughter was followed by the suspects before they opened fire, adding: ‘It wasn’t just a robbery, a robbery. It was a homicide.
“Nobody shoots another car with the windows closed.”
According to reports, the suspects fired first from the back of the vehicle before approaching the car and firing again.
Luanne’s husband, João Pedro Farche, said their son was in the car at the time, but they were both unharmed in the shooting.
He wrote for Luanne subscribers: “I’m not very good with this. I want to thank everyone who sends very many messages.
“I’m fine, Miguelzinho (their son) is fine too.

“Miguelzinho injured his face. Some shrapnel went to his face, but he’s fine.
“I was in the back seat. But that’s all. As soon as I have more information, I will write it here.
On her Instagram page, Luanne shared fitness and weight loss tips after losing over 42 kilograms (6.6 stone).
She leaves behind two children aged 10 and 2. The inquest into his death is ongoing.
