Brawl erupts in Hindley Street kebab shop leaving female cop with a broken arm after she was flung to the ground and allegedly spat on

A female police officer is in hospital with a broken arm after she was knocked to the ground and allegedly spat on during a wild late-night brawl at a kebab shop.

Police were called to Falafel House on Hindley Street, a popular party strip in Adelaide, on Sunday after reports of a fight.

CCTV footage shows a couple entering the restaurant before the woman throws goods at a customer and the man starts lashing out at another bystander.

Manager George Alkoury tried to intervene, but was also hit by the man and thrown to the ground.

Sir. Alkoury locked the doors to his restaurant while the fight continued outside his shop.

The restaurant manager is seen dashing outside waving a stick in an attempt to defend his customers.

“I protect my customers, it’s my responsibility man,” Mr Alkoury told me 7 News.

The 63-year-old said the pair had damaged his property and ‘hit everyone’ including himself.

“Too much sore, too much pain, my neck, he pushed me like this and I’m in severe pain,” Mr Alkoury said.

Police officers claim they were spat on when they arrived at the scene and tried to break up the fight just before 10am.

A female officer broke her arm after she was thrown to the ground while trying to intervene.

She was taken to hospital for treatment.

A man and a woman from O’Halloran Hill, both aged 26, were arrested and charged with a number of offences, including obstructing the police and aggravated assault.

The woman was refused bail and is due to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

The man was granted bail and is scheduled to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on a date in May.
