A UFC fan was knocked out in the stands after taking a hard left blow from a fellow spectator at UFC Fight Night in Mexico City.

While Saturday’s event at Arena CDMX was an incredible showcase for Mexican MMA talent, action filled the stands as a group of fans got into a fierce fight.

A multitude of punches took over one of the sections as fans exchanged blows while grabbing each other’s clothes. A clip of the incident shows several groups clashing with no security in sight.

Amid the chaos, a fan wearing a white T-shirt that appeared to have been torn during the fight was isolated. Then, a fan dressed in black hit him with a left hook that knocked him back to the ground.

The same fan who landed the punch knocked down another with his left hand seconds before. Meanwhile, the surrounding fans made sure to leave their chairs aside as the fight continued.

The event is the sixth UFC event in Mexico City and the first in the last four and a half years.

The promotion’s return south of the border features two of the UFC’s former Mexican champions at the top of the card. Former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno headlined the event against Brandon Royval.

Additionally, former interim featherweight champion Yair Rodríguez starred alongside Brian Ortega in the co-main event. The two previously faced each other in 2022 at UFC Long Island. Unfortunately, Ortega injured his shoulder minutes into the fight, giving Rodriguez an anticlimactic TKO victory.

Earlier this week, UFC opened its first Performance Institute in Mexico.

The UFC PI in Mexico City is a 4,636 square meter state-of-the-art facility. Its amenities include a weight room, gripping floor, nutrition lab and physical therapy.

“This has been a dream and goal of mine since 2001. To finally be here and walk the halls of the UFC Performance Institute in Mexico City is a monumental moment in the history of our sport,” the UFC boss wrote. Dana Blanco.

“The impact this facility will have on Mexico, as well as Central and South America, will be MASSIVE.”
