Brandy was Kobe’s date for his Lower Merion Township High School prom at the Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia in May 1996, when they were both 17 years old.
In 1996, at the age of 17, Brandy wore a sleeveless champagne Moschino dress and scarf while posing with 17-year-old Kobe in a black tuxedo.
“He asked me to go to the prom with him, and since he was a nice guy … I asked my mom and she said yes,” Brandy told the New York Daily News.

After the ball, they went to the premiere of the movie Eraser starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Kanye, 42, also said that Kobe’s death changed the way he “views life” and he thinks of the deceased star as he drives past the area in Calabasas, California, where the crash occurred.
He said, “So now I can’t be as determined as Kobe every time I drive down that street. It’s play time. There is no movement that we cannot make or that we will wait.
Everyone in our lives is now a member of the Lakers in one of Kobe’s championship teams. The way Kobe would say we all have to get together to win this championship is how I look at life now. To an infinite, different level. ‘
