Bradley Riches’ grandfather died while in the Celebrity Big Brother house.
The Heartstopper star, 22, was competing on the hit ITV1 reality series and was ousted just a day before the final in a backdoor eviction.
But Bradley took to Instagram on Sunday night to reveal that he left the show to learn the sad news that his grandfather had passed away.
He wrote: ‘Just heard the sad news of my grandfather’s passing while I was at the BB house.
‘He was strong, kind and funny. I love you so much x.’
Bradley Riches’ grandfather died while in the Celebrity Big Brother house and the Heartstopper star (pictured) found out the sad news when he quit the show in a backdoor eviction.
The Netflix star remembered her grandfather as “strong, kind and funny” in a tribute post made to her Instagram Story.
Bradley’s heartbreak came after he was forced to leave the reality series in its penultimate episode.
The housemates received a one-minute surprise visit from a loved one at the secret meeting place, while their housemates watched from the living room.
Louis Walsh was surprised by 80s icon Sinitta, who scolded him for his sarcastic comments in the house, while Nikita Kuzmin burst into tears at the sight of his girlfriend and Fern got to see her youngest daughter.
However, when it was Bradley’s turn, he was greeted by host AJ Odudu, who broke the news to him that he was going home, after receiving the fewest votes from the public.
Speaking in the diary room, Bradley, who spoke openly about his autism diagnosis while on the show, gushed that he had had the “best time.”
He said: “I feel like I had the best time, I’m so grateful to have made so many amazing friends and to be able to do this, I felt like I was scared to do it and I did it and.” “I’m very happy and very grateful and I just had the best time, so thank you, Big Brother.”
Bradley’s sudden departure from the series meant that former X Factor judge Louis, This Morning legend Fern Britton, Coronation Street actor Colson Smith, Strictly Come Dancing professional Nikita and Ibiza Weekender’s David Potts all arrived at the final.
In the end, reality star David triumphed and came in first place.
On Thursday night, Bradley Riches became the seventh celebrity to be evicted in a shocking and brutal turn.
Bradley’s exit meant the Celebrity Big Brother finalists were David Potts, Nikita Kuzmin, Louis Walsh, Fern Britton and Colson Smith.
But it was the Ibiza Weekender star, 30, who narrowly edged out Nikita Kuzmin, 26, to take the crown by coming in second, with Colson Smith in third, Louis Walsh in fourth and Fern Britton in fifth place.
David was overwhelmed when presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best announced his name as the winner.
The former Celebs Go Dating star was cheered by the crowd as she stormed out of the house on Friday.
He said: ‘Kill! I really wasn’t expecting this at all, thank you very much.’
Speaking to hosts AJ and Will during his first interview on Late and Live, he said: “This is just me, what you see is what you get.” Long loud legs, here to kill!
