Brad Pitt mingled with professional racing drivers as he was spotted filming a scene for his upcoming Formula One-based movie at the iconic Silverstone circuit on Friday.

The 60-year-old Hollywood star was dressed in a helmet and racing suit as he prepared to take to the track for some high-speed driving during the second day of the British Grand Prix festival.

Only a small portion of Brad’s face could be seen as he sat in the car with his helmet on before the grueling practice session during one of the most legendary sporting events of the year.

The star’s new blockbuster, to be called F1, will be co-produced by Lewis Hamilton.

After the filming of the movie was delayed amid last year’s American actors and writers strike, Brad, 60, will compete in a Adapted Formula 2 car in between practice sessions this weekend as the action scenes begin.

F1 bosses hope the film, due for release on June 25 next year, will follow the popularity of Netflix’s Drive to Survive series, a teaser for which will be released before Sunday’s race.

Brad plays the role of veteran driver Sonny Hayes, who returns to the F1 grid after a long absence.

Alongside fictional rookie team-mate Joshua Pierce, played by British actor Damson Idris, the Fight Club star lined up with the sport’s 20 drivers ahead of last year’s race at Silverstone and the two actors will be back on the grid ahead of Sunday’s event.

A garage has also been set up in the Silverstone paddock for the ‘eleventh team’, called APXGP.

Meanwhile, multiple world champion Lewis, 39, has been heavily involved in the script to ensure the film is as authentic as possible.

Joseph Kosinski, the man behind Top Gun: Maverick, is directing the film, while Jerry Bruckheimer, who also worked on the Tom Cruise blockbuster, is listed as a producer.

Brad was in high spirits as he immersed himself in his scenes with the actor, who will attend six more races this season to work on the upcoming film.

Earlier in the day, the movie icon was also photographed stopping to chat with some lucky fans, as the actor wrapped up against the cold weather in a black jacket.

He also attended the glitzy sporting event on Thursday and made sure to steal the show as he arrived at the Silverstone circuit before entering through a door marked Cast Green Room.
