An eight-year-old boy was mauled to death by a pair of Pit Bulls that had allegedly tormented his neighborhood.
Michael Millett and his friend were bicycling near his home in central Florida on Monday when they saw the deadly dogs and went to pet them, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said.
The dogs were initially friendly, but then viciously attacked little Michael, as reported by Action News Jax.
“A little boy is being attacked by two dogs,” said a woman who witnessed the tragedy during a horrific 911 call.
‘They’re literally pulling on him. Please hurry. He’s not moving,” she added as she cried.
Witnesses reportedly attempted to resuscitate the boy while police and animal control officers chased and quarantined the dogs.
One dog was described as a Pitbull and the other as a mixed breed.

The dogs were taken by animal control, but nothing can be done until their owner turns them away, officials said

Neighbors told local media that the dogs are aggressive and wandering around.
However, the Animal Protection Society says it has not received any complaints about them.

Sheriff Mike Chitwood said he will do everything he can to hold the owner accountable.
“We are going to do everything humanly possible to hold the owner of these dogs accountable, and we are going to do everything humanly possible to ensure that these animals are destroyed,” he said.
The dogs are currently in the custody of animal control, but no action can be taken until the owner signs them off. If she doesn’t, the case will be taken to court.
The victim’s family has set up a GoFundMe to support Michael’s parents.

“…Our family is devastated by the loss of Michael. He was incredibly smart, funny, caring, loving and so adventurous. Michael’s infectious laugh and lightheartedness will be greatly missed.
To help with funeral costs, medical costs and additional costs due to missed time off at work, we have set up Go Fund Me. Tiffani and Michael have two other children and need time to spend with them during this difficult time.”
