Posso and Flores denied starving Eduardo, but admitted that they physically abused him because he & # 39; acted more than the other children & # 39 ;, researchers said.

A spokesman for the school district of Manatee County told Fox59 that Eduardo was withdrawn from the district in December 2018 to be schooled at home.

He had been in and out of school since 2012. Eduardo & # 39; s mother, Aurea Esmeralda Garcia, told the outlet that she believed her son was in Florida with her ex and Flores.

She claimed she had no custody and had been unable to see her children or talk to her.

Garcia told Fox59: "When the police said," Can we walk in and talk to you? "I knew something was wrong because it's not normal to do that.

& # 39; I want to see him. I want to kiss him no matter what he is and tell him I'm sorry. I did everything I could, but nothing worked.

She said she believed something was wrong and that she and other family members in Florida were trying to make the alarm.

She added: & # 39; You don't even do that to an animal, you link it like that and abuse it the way it was abused.

& # 39; No one will listen, and this is happening now. Now my son is dead, & Garcia added.

Monroe County Sheriff Brad Swain said the boy probably suffered a slow and painful death.

& # 39; I can't imagine, in 30 years, a case like this. It goes beyond everything I have worked on, "Swain said.

& # 39; Everyone involved in this case is very touched and will be affected until the end of our career, let alone the end of our lives. I mean, there really are no words for this kind of abuse. & # 39;

Posso and Flores are each held on a $ 500,000 bond in the Monroe County prison.
