A teenager has been charged with attempted murder after a 13-year-old girl was stabbed in a horror attack on Friday morning in Yorkshire.
The young woman, who was found by passers-by, had suffered serious lacerations, including stab wounds to her neck, back, chest and abdomen.
Charged tonight with attempted murder, the teenager also faces another charge of possession of a sharp object.
The 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Humberside Police were called to the scene on the side of the A63 road outside Hessle, Yorkshire, in the early hours of Friday morning after passing drivers noticed the injured teenager.
The incident occurred in a wooded area adjacent to a large meadow behind the Humber View Hotel.
The hotel had previously been taken over by the Home Office to house young male asylum seekers. But it reopened to the public during the summer and today seemed practically deserted.
The teenager was found seriously injured following a knife attack on the side of the A63 in Yorkshire.
Humberside Police carried out a search in a nearby wooded area which led to the arrest of six teenagers believed to be acquaintances of the victim.
Emergency services responded to the scene and discovered that the 13-year-old girl had suffered multiple life-threatening lacerations.
She was later taken to hospital for medical treatment, where she now remains in serious but stable condition.
A search of the area was carried out and six teenagers were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in a nearby wooded area in connection with the incident.
The six teens were allegedly found gathered around the remains of a fire surrounded by empty beer cans.
Since then, three teenagers aged 15, 16 and 17 and two girls aged 14 and 15 have been released on police bail.

The woods lie between the busy A63 and the outskirts of the village of North Ferriby.
Locals were left stunned by the attack on the outskirts of the sleepy village of North Ferriby overlooking the Humber Bridge.
A woman whose house borders the meadow, but across the field from the forest where the girl was attacked, said: ‘We just saw the police there and that.
‘My husband was in the garden and he happened to see the police there and these two tents. It’s terrible.
‘You can’t believe it. It is a really quiet area. It’s just a small town.
Another woman, who was walking her dog in the countryside but did not want to be identified, said: “That area is quite popular.
“There is always a lot of mess there. It is also very poorly lit. During the school holidays there are always children there.
‘It’s not very nice. We come here every day. We have no idea what has happened. The area is known as Little Switzerland.
