Boxer Harry Garside broke his silence following the shocking news that his ex-girlfriend had been accused of assaulting him, declaring on social media: “I’m perfect exactly where I am right now.”
In a video posted to Instagram on Friday morning, the Olympic medalist shared a heartfelt and uplifting message for his fans.
“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but I know I’ve needed it for the last week or so,” he said.
Of course, there is always room to grow and evolve, but I am perfect exactly where I am right now. I know my heart is in the right place, I know I’m a good person.’
Garside (pictured right with then-girlfriend Ash Ruscoe) said he was “perfect exactly the way I am now.”
On Thursday morning, Daily Mail Australia exclusively revealed that Garside’s ex-girlfriend, Ash Ruscoe, had been accused of assaulting, stalking or intimidating him at their Bellevue Hill home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
The same day, the former Olympian’s distraught ex-girlfriend rushed to her lawyer’s office and frantically canceled her morning gym class after being charged by NSW police.
Garside said he made a motivational Instagram video on Friday “because I’m sure someone like me needed to hear it.”
“You are perfectly fine exactly where you are,” he wrote in a post alongside the video.
“Turn that criticism into curiosity and watch the journey of self-improvement become fun again.”

On Thursday, Daily Mail Australia revealed that Garside’s ex-girlfriend was accused of assaulting, stalking or intimidating him.

Ash Ruscoe declined to answer questions when approached by the Daily Mail Australia in the Sydney CBD on Thursday.
News of the assault comes three months after Ms Ruscoe, a boxing and martial arts instructor, went to police claiming Garside was making her fear for her safety.
It was the same day that he had flown to South Africa to film I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.
Garside was charged by police upon his return to Australia, however those charges were dropped in May after images and audio recordings surfaced that allegedly told a different story about what transpired between the couple.
On Wednesday afternoon, Ms Ruscoe was arrested at her home and taken to Waverley Police Station where she was charged with an alleged incident of domestic violence that occurred on her property on Wednesday 1 March.
A police spokesperson said: “After further investigation, police went to the Bellevue Hill home at around 4:45pm today and arrested a 35-year-old female.
“She was taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with common assault (DV) and stalking/intimidation with intent to cause physical fear etc. harm (DV).”
Ms Ruscoe was granted bail and received legal advice at Sydney’s ‘premier criminal law firm’, Streeton Lawyers, in the city’s CBD on Thursday, where she later walked out stressed.
He also canceled his regular boxing classes at the luxury fitness studio, Shelter, in Double Bay.
Ms Ruscoe did not say anything when approached to comment on the alleged incident.

Ash Rusco rushed to his lawyer’s office and frantically canceled his morning gym class.
Garside has also not commented on the legal twist.
Last month, the 25-year-old boxer was relieved to have the charges against him and an associated warrant of arrest for violence formally dropped.
Garside announced in a statement outside court that he had been “informed by the police prosecutor that all matters against me had been dismissed.”
“Today I have been vindicated,” he said.
Garside represented Australia in boxing at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, taking bronze in the men’s lightweight division and has since won his first three professional bouts.
Ms Ruscoe will face the Downing Center Local Court in July.
