A Boston radio host criticized Bill Belichick as a “little idiot” and accused him of having a “vendetta” against the Patriots.
Belichick, who parted ways with New England earlier this year after 24 seasons with the franchise, has remained in football with roles on the Pat McAfee Show and ESPN’s Manningcast, among others.
And Boston radio host Fred Toucher was apparently displeased with the legendary coach’s latest analysis following the Patriots’ win over the Bears last weekend.
“Good old Belichick, who spoke badly about the team again last night,” Toucher said on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s ‘Toucher and Hardy’ show, according to Horrible ad.
‘He’s an idiot. I can’t believe Patriots fans don’t look at this guy now and think, ‘What a petty asshole.’ Because even when they do well, he doesn’t give them credit for doing well.
Legendary coach Bill Belichick has appeared on the Pat McAfee Show this NFL season.
But Boston radio host Fred Toucher lashed out at Belichick’s latest analysis this week.
“When things go bad for them, I can see him shitting on them,” he continued. —Because at least that’s under the pretext of doing your job. But when they do good and you don’t give them any credit… Literally make the statement, ‘Well, it’s really not so much about the Patriots as it is about the Bears.’ That’s a vendetta.
Toucher’s comments followed Belichick Appearing on the McAfee Showwhere he largely attributed the Bears’ loss to New England to his own ineptitude.
“(Drake Maye) made some plays where he can spread out the defense when the running game draws some of the coverage and the linebackers,” Belichick said.
‘But you know, for me, the most important thing is where the Bears are. “They can’t protect, they can’t move the ball and they can’t score any points.”
Earlier this season, Belichick also criticized his successor, Jerod Mayo, after he called his own players “soft.”
“I think when you criticize your team publicly like that, it doesn’t always come out well,” Belichick responded to the Come on! podcast, which also featured Tom Brady.
‘Every coach has his own style and maybe sometimes that can be effective. But in the end I always felt that when the team played badly, that was also my responsibility.
Coach Jerod Mayo called his players “soft” earlier this season after a Patriots loss.
“We may have played badly, but we had bad training that led us to play badly.” That’s why I think it’s always better to look at yourself and do what you can to help the team.
‘If you have constructive criticism as a coach, that’s your job. But last year the Patriots led the league in rushing defense: yards per carry. No. 1 in the league, this year it’s 26 or whatever.
Toucher’s criticism of Belichick went beyond football, however, as he referenced the coach’s Halloween costume with his 23-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.
‘Next, maybe he’ll be the mermaid and she’ll be the fisherman. Reverse the roles. I tell Jordon that maybe you won’t be in the photo as much next time. Bill in a boy’s sailor suit with a big paddle and a balloon. Maybe you can dress up as an attractive librarian who scolds him for bringing the balloon and lollipop to the library.
The Patriots are 3-7 and remain last in the AFC East after beating Chicago.
