Tom Homan, newly elected President Donald Trump’s border czar, has unveiled his plans for more than 1,400 acres of land in Texas that the Lonestar State donated to the federal government last month.
In a conversation with Dr. Phil, the talk show host turned proponent of closed borders, Homan said he has devised plans to use the 1,402-acre Starr County ranch that Texas officials acquired in October to fuel construction of a border wall facilitate.
“I’m writing the plan as we speak. I worked on it last night,” Homan, 63, a former Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, told Dr. Phil on Merit TV.
He then praised Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s efforts to secure the southern border with Mexico — and said he would use the country as a staging area for migrants before they could be put on deportation flights.
“The 1,400 acres of land, which prevents us from acquiring the land,” Homan said.
“The government never buys things quickly and when we do, we pay too much for it, so it’s great to have this from the state of Texas.”
State Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham had suggested last month that the former ranch could be used for such deportation efforts when she announced the state would transfer ownership of the property to the federal government.
“I was brainstorming with my team, and we thought that the Trump administration probably needs some deportation facilities because we have a lot of these violent criminals that we need to round up and get out of our country,” she explained. Fox News.
“We are happy to make this offer and hope they take it up,” she said of the country she said was overrun by drug and human trafficking.

Buckingham now says she is pleased with Homan’s plans and looks forward to working with the new administration to secure the border.
“For far too long, Texans and Americans have suffered under Biden’s broken border policies,” she said said in a statement to Fox News.
“I look forward to working with newly appointed Border Czar Tom Homan in ridding our communities of violent, illegal criminals who are hurting our sons and daughters, and I expect to discuss next steps on January 21, 2025.”
“As Texas Land Commissioner, it has been my commitment to all Texans to do everything within my authority to gain full operational control of our southern border,” she continued.
“I hope that leasing this land will help the new Trump administration protect our American families.”
Trump had tapped Homan to take the lead ‘largest’ deportation of migrants in US history when his government takes over on January 20.
Migrants who committed crimes while in the United States will be the first to be targeted — but Trump’s plans don’t stop there.

As DailyMail.com previously reported, Trump’s team also plans to target legal migrants, including asylum seekers and those who entered the US on humanitarian parole under the Biden administration.
Additionally, the new administration is looking for ways to change who is considered American by ending the birthright right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
But several liberal city leaders, including the mayors of Boston and Los Angeles, have said publicly that they will oppose Trump’s efforts to round up undocumented immigrants who pay taxes, follow the law and have made a life for themselves in the USA
“We will continue to focus on that work and have no intention of rolling out the welcome mat to them,” Boston Mayor Michelle Wu said of her sanctuary city.

“Reaching city services, whether it’s calling 911 when you need it or taking your child to school — those are all city services that have nothing to do with immigration enforcement,” she said of migrants.
“And we will continue to protect our residents within those spaces.”
But Homan quickly took aim at the liberal mayor, warning her not to “cross the line.”
“She’s not very smart, I’ll give her that,” Homan, a former police officer, told NewsMax.
“They can’t work together, but there are certain laws they can’t cross and I hope she doesn’t break them,” he told Newsmax.
