Houston Rockets center Boban Marjanovic intentionally missed a free throw as his team went big to send Los Angeles Clippers fans home with free chicken in the final game of the regular season.

With the Rockets up 105-97, Marjanovic stepped to the line and missed his first free throw.

That brought Clippers fans to their feet, as a second missed free throw would mean they would win free chicken as part of a promotion.

Marjanovic, a former Clipper, recognized what was happening and began to get the crowd excited by pointing to himself.

He rose to take his second free throw, which bounced off the iron and missed.

As the crowd roared in approval, Marjanovic pointed to the sky, apparently admitting that he had done it on purpose.

The Rockets broadcast lost its mind and one of the announcers yelled, ‘Ah! He gave them chicken! He is a man of the people! He handed out free chicken!’

The Rockets didn’t have much to play for other than avoiding a losing season with a win, as the team had long been eliminated from the playoffs.

But they got that victory by a score of 116-105 to finish 41-41 this season.

As for the Clippers, they are in fourth place in the Western Conference playoffs with a record of 51-31. They will play the five-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the playoffs.
