A book documenting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement is on sale for just 10p at a Waterstones store less than 200 meters from Windsor Castle.
The title, ‘Harry and Meghan: A Royal Engagement’ by Halima Sadat, is on the shelves of the royal section at the entrance to the bookstore on the town’s main street.
The reduction equates to a 98.7 per cent discount on the recommended retail price of £7.99, and the book is still available at full cost on the Waterstones website for collection.
The book, surrounded by other full-price royal titles, was published on December 14, 2017, just 17 days after the engagement was announced on November 27.
It is still available at a much higher price from other retailers, including Amazon for £3.14, WH Smith for £5.59 and publisher Batsford Books for the original price of £7.99.

The book is surrounded by other full-price royal titles at Waterstones in Windsor.
The blurb on Batsford’s website describes the title, printed under the Pitkin brand, as a “very special new royal souvenir in celebration of this truly modern love story.”
It also tells the “story of how the handsome Prince met and fell in love with the beautiful American actress,” despite their “different origins and career paths.”
It says Meghan “faces a new chapter in becoming a senior member of the Royal Family,” adding: “We have no doubt that she will take on this duty with her natural charm and elegance.”
Additionally, the book says, “With gorgeous illustrations and some never-before-seen images, this is a keepsake worth cherishing.”
The author, Ms Sadat, has also written several other royal titles in recent years, including the 2018 publication ‘Harry & Meghan: The Royal Wedding Book’.
Harry and Meghan announced their engagement with a photocall in Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden in west London, before marrying at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May 2018.
The Waterstones on Windsor High Street is located less than 200 meters from the castle.
The book about the Sussexes is still available on the Waterstones website for its full price of £7.99.
Nearby Windsor Castle is where Harry and Meghan were married, in St. George’s Chapel.
However, in early 2020 they revealed that they would be stepping down as royals before moving to the US, where they now live in Montecito, California.
Perhaps the most famous book about the couple was Finding Freedom by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, which was one of the best-selling royal books in history.
Harry also wrote a biography, Spare, which was published in January 2023 and included a number of royal bombshells. The duke is believed to have signed a four-book contract.
The pair also have an £80m deal with Netflix to produce video content, although their £18m audio deal with Spotify ended early last summer.
A Waterstones spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘This title published in 2017 has been discontinued by its publisher Pitkin Publishing and is no longer available to order online.
“It is normal practice for our stores to include out of stock or damaged stock in a local clearance sale at a reduced price, to make room for new books on their shelves.”
