Several US government websites are down as President Joe Biden delivers his State of the Union address.
The websites of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Secret Service showed screens of technical difficulty Thursday night.
The cause of the outages is currently unknown. According to Search.gov, a search engine made by and for the federal government, the planned maintenance was scheduled between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm on Thursday.
While government agency websites are down, much of the country is watching Biden’s pivotal State of the Union.
He began his speech with a joke before moving on to an attack on his rival for the presidency, Donald Trump.
Biden’s goal with his speech is to present himself as an energetic choice worthy of a second term.
