Bondi: Four men charged over drug bust in Sydney seaside suburb

Four men have been arrested separately on multiple drug charges following a two-day operation in Sydney’s upmarket eastern suburbs.

The Eastern Suburbs Proactive Crime Team, Southern Region Enforcement Squad and NSW Police High Visibility Policing Unit conducted operations in Bondi on Friday and Saturday, focusing on domestic violence and drug supply offences.

Police carried out 39 domestic violence order compliance checks, 25 bail compliance checks, 18 personal searches, five vehicle searches, 18 random breath tests, 12 drug detections and issued six movement directions, seizing multiple batches of drugs and cash.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at 7.40pm on Friday in Denham St Bondi, with police alleging he was in possession of 308g of cannabis, 72g of cannabis gummies and $2840 in cash believed to be the proceeds of crime.

He has since been charged with supplying and distributing prohibited drugs and trafficking in the proceeds of crime.

He is due to appear at Waverley Local Court in early September.

A second 19-year-old man was also arrested in Bondi, on Castlefield St., at around 8.45pm on Friday. Police allege he was carrying eight grams of cocaine and $7900 in cash, suspected to be the proceeds of crime.

He is due to appear at Waverley Local Court in early September and has been charged with two counts of supplying prohibited drugs, possession of prohibited drugs and dealing in the proceeds of crime.

Two men were also separately on Hall St, near Bondi Beach.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with two counts of supplying prohibited drugs and trafficking in proceeds of crime after police allege he was carrying seven grams of cocaine and $1,300 in cash suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

Following his arrest at around 12.50am on Sunday, the man was refused bail, before being granted bail in Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.

He is now due to appear before Waverley Local Court on August 8.

The second man, aged 34, was allegedly found with 12 grams of cocaine, seven grams of MDMA and $2,500 in cash, suspected to be the proceeds of crime.

He has been charged with three counts of supplying prohibited drugs and dealing in the proceeds of crime and will appear at Waverley Local Court on September 17.
