Sri Lankan cricketer Danushka ‘Danny’ Gunathilaka has been found not guilty of sexual assault with his Tinder partner by a NSW District Court judge.
Gunathilaka, 32, was charged with “stealth theft” – removing his condom during sex without the other party’s consent – after returning to a woman’s house in Sydney’s eastern suburbs last November.
The two met for drinks at the Sydney Opera Bar, dined at popular late-night establishment Frankies, then returned to the accuser’s home.
Gunathilaka pleaded not guilty to sexual intercourse without consent and went on trial earlier this month.
Judge Sarah Huggett delivered the verdict on Thursday.
