Lauren Bran (pictured) had four violence warrants held against her ex-boyfriend Jake Barnett.

The property developer ex-boyfriend of a former MAFS star, who ran away from her firefighter boyfriend on their wedding night, left court with a $1000 fine and community service for breaching AVOs.

Lauren Bran was dubbed the ‘MAFS runaway bride’ in 2017 during season 4 of the hit reality show after she abandoned her new husband, Andrew ‘Jonesy’ Jones, in a Bondi pub just hours after their on-screen nuptials.

Weeks later, she posted loving photos with her new boyfriend Jake Barnett, a bankrupt property developer and single father of two from Sydney’s Sutherland Shire, during a trip to Hamilton Island.

But their relationship quickly soured and ended when police issued four arrest warrants against him in his name, the first of which was in 2017, just two months after his escape to the island.

The orders were in place for two years, during which time he was prohibited from approaching her, destroying her property, assaulting or threatening her.

Earlier this year, Barnett appeared in court on three counts of failing to comply with an AVO and one count of harassment and intimidation.

He was denied bail and eventually hired famed attorney Bryan Wrench to defend him.

Daily Mail Australia understands Ms Bran was unwell during the court proceedings.

In June, Barnett pleaded guilty at Waverley Local Court to one count of contravening an AVO. He was sentenced to a 12-month community corrections order.

In September, he appeared at Sydney’s Downing Center and pleaded guilty to a second charge of contravening an AVO.

According to court documents, Barnett “knowingly” breached an arrest warrant between 10.09am and 7.20pm on April 4, 2024.

He was ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 and sentenced to a new nine-month community corrections order.

Additional charges of breach of AVO and harassment were withdrawn and dismissed.

Ms Bran previously revealed she met Mr Barnett while in a pub with her mother in the Sutherland Shire, a week after she dumped her MAFS boyfriend.

He approached her table, asked her out, and bought his mother a cup of tea.

“We just fell into each other’s laps,” he said at the time.

‘Jake is also a successful Sutherland Shire property developer, and I now work alongside him at a company that has just launched a new $50 million development site.

“He shares the same drive, ambition, values and morals as me.”

In 2021, a concrete company put Barnett out of business over an unpaid $7,000 bill.
