The men allegedly “intercepted” the girl at a cultural event she was attending with her family and made her drink alcohol before raping her in a “remote location”.
The horror attack occurred in the early hours of Monday in the town of Oruro, located halfway between the capital La Paz and Sucre.
It lies approximately 3,700 meters (12,000 feet) above sea level and is the fifth largest city in Bolivia by population.

The Bolivian Public Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement released yesterday: “The Oruro Departmental Prosecutor, Aldo Morales Alconini, announced today that the Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating an act of aggravated rape committed against a 12-year-old minor, who allegedly was attacked by 11 people. people.
“So far, Víctor QR, Víctor H.CH and Adolfo CC have been arrested and will be charged in the coming hours.
“The Prosecutor’s Office will also request during a court hearing the preventive detention of the suspects, while the police continue to hunt down the other individuals.
Mr Morales added: “Once we became aware of the attack, we began the corresponding investigation including the psychological report of the victim, an identification and a forensic certificate which demonstrates the existence of the criminal act and made it possible to identify the first three suspects.”
“We will continue to work in a coordinated manner with the police to find the others responsible and bring them to justice.
“The forensic report shows that the girl has clear signs of bodily harm and abrasions due to friction on the spine.
“We are analyzing what information and assistance we will need from the Institute of Forensic Investigation and others in an effort to clarify this incident so that it does not go unpunished.
“We want to make sure those responsible are sentenced to 30 years in prison.”

Ronald Vargas, the prosecutor in the case, revealed that the alleged gang rape occurred around 1 a.m. Monday in Oruro, after the 12-year-old girl went to a cultural event with her family.
The men involved allegedly forced her to consume alcohol before the sexual assault.
It was not made clear how they managed to take her away from her family or where exactly the alleged gang rape, which prosecutors said took place in a “remote location,” took place.
In June last year, it was reported that the baby of a 12-year-old girl raped by her grandfather in the central Bolivia town of Chimoré had died after her religious family refused the abortion.
