Detectives are investigating a suspicious death after finding the body of a man in remote NSW bushland.

Police found the body about 3 kilometers from Wentworth, in southwestern New South Wales, on Thursday morning.

Officers were called to reports of a fire on Log Bridge Road and found the deceased man during a search of the area.

The man is believed to be in his 50s and has not yet been formally identified.

A crime scene has been established.
