A 25-year-old man drowned in Sydney’s Lake Parramatta just six days after an almost identical tragedy.
Emergency services were called to the popular swimming spot at around 5pm on Monday after reports a man was unable to surface.
Local police, Marine Area Command, paramedics from New South Wales Ambulance and Surf Lifesavers conducted an extensive search of the lake.
Shortly before 8:00 p.m. the man’s body was located.

The tragedy comes just six days after a 23-year-old man also drowned in Lake Parramatta (pictured) after failing to surface.
Emergency services rushed to the popular swimming spot (pictured) at around 5pm on Monday after it was reported that a man was unable to surface.
“He has been formally identified as a 25-year-old man from Carlton,” New South Wales Police said in a statement.
‘Police have been informed that the man was at the scene with friends when he entered the water.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for the coroner’s information.”
The tragedy comes just six days after a 23-year-old man also drowned in Lake Parramatta after failing to surface.
