Body of a boy found in river after desperate search was launched in Victoria’s east

A boy’s body has been recovered from a river after a desperate search was launched when he went missing.

Emergency services were called to a campsite on Angusvale Track, near Cobbannah, in eastern Victoria, at around 11.50am

They were told they had seen the boy in the river at around 11.20am, but had not been seen since.

“A search was carried out and the child was located dead in the water at around 2.50pm,” Victoria Police said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
