Makeup guru Bobbi Brown has shed some light on the very subtle and casual way Meghan Markle discussed her relationship with Prince Harry at the beginning of their romance, revealing that the Duchess called him ‘a guy she dated from the UK’ .
The 63-year-old beauty guru took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a message honoring Meghan’s 39th birthday – sharing a sweet anecdote about the first time she heard the actress then talk about her relationship with Prince Harry.
In addition to a photo of herself with Meghan, taken during a 2018 photo shoot for The Coveteur, Bobbi wrote, “ Congratulations to Meghan Markle who was so happy to work. At the time of the shoot, she told me about a man she just started dating from the UK. ‘

Under wraps: At the time of the shoot, Meghan (photo with Harry in September 2017), 39, was hesitant about Harry’s identity, while Bobbi said she was talking about ‘a guy from the UK’
Bobbi further admits that she had no idea that the man in question was Prince Harry, revealing that she “did not ask” who Meghan was referring to.
Not long after the shoot, however, Bobbi got the chance to meet Meghan and Harry as a couple when she attended the launch party for the new location of Soho House in Amsterdam, a three-day event attended by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
‘I saw them again on a very special @sohohouseamsterdam birthday day. Sweet as always, ”she closed the mail.
The September 2016 Coveteur shoot with Meghan and Bobbi saw the Duchess demonstrate how to apply makeup in the back of a moving Uber, and was filmed while on a Suits movie break.
In a video of the shoot, Meghan Bobbi was able to tell all about an upcoming movie project she hoped to land, a role she never really played as not long after the feature was published, the Duchess quit her acting career to go to the UK and get married with Harry.
At the time, however, news of the relationship between Meghan and Harry was still limited to rumors and speculation – and it was only confirmed when royal power released a public statement about the romance in November of the same year.

How times change! Meghan and Harry (pictured September 2019) have since tied the knot and welcomed their first child, baby Archie
In fact, the shoot took place just two months after Suits star first met Prince Harry after being set up by a mutual friend, believed to be designer Misha Nonoo.
Not long after that first meeting, the couple went on a second date at Soho House in London, where they enjoyed a long dinner together at a ‘discreet table’ reportedly arranged by their mutual friend Markus Anderson, who is a consultant to the private members’ club.
Markus was probably the same person who invited Meghan and Harry to the launch of Soho House Amsterdam, where Bobbi met the lucky couple who attended the A-list event along with actors Eddie Redmayne, Jenna Coleman and Douglas Booth.
As Meghan played it reluctantly as she told Bobbi about her then-new relationship with Harry, a new biography about the couple – Finding Freedom – reveals that the pair were ‘immediately obsessed’ with each other.
The book, written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, describes how the pair felt ‘tangible appeal’ after their first date at Dean Street Townhouse in Soho, London, with Harry reportedly departing in a ‘trance’ telling Meghan friends that this could have legs’.
On that first date, which lasted three hours, Harry shared his charity work and many travels to Africa, and found a shared passion for “wanting to change forever” with Meghan, helping to form a bond between them. It came after Meghan’s divorce and her first serious relationship ended after that.

She told a friend before her trip to London that she would be happy with “a nice English gentleman to flirt with.”
Meghan and Harry didn’t kiss that first night, although sources said they were “in their own little world” and planned to meet again soon.
That second meeting actually took place the following evening at the same location, which Harry and Meghan enjoyed romantic dinner, where staff do their utmost to ensure their privacy and drag them in through a staff entrance commonly used to discreetly bring in fish.
They talked all night, and although Harry returned to Kensington Palace alone, he admitted to friends afterwards that Meghan “ticks every box.”
Just one night after date two, Meghan was taken to Kensington Palace in a veil of secrecy, where Harry tried to impress her with stories of his work and life, which he admitted was “a little crazy.”
Six weeks later, Harry Meghan flew to Botswana, where they enjoyed a very special and very long third date, camping together under the stars in a luxury tent.
This holiday took place just weeks before Meghan’s shoot with Bobbi was scheduled – and to the sounds of things, the Suits star couldn’t hide her joy at the budding romance with the royal family.
