Jacque Huggins, the daughter of former West Virginia University basketball coach Bob Huggins, went on an angry Facebook rant directed at the school.
During his long social media post Jacque called those in power at the University “cowards”, “backstabbers” and “hypocrites” after his father resigned.
Even before his recent DUI, which reportedly saw Huggins have a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit, the Hall of Fame coach was already in the hot seat after he made homophobic comments towards Xavier’s basketball fans. .
‘For [school president] Gordon Gee and your board, be better and do better,’ Jacque wrote.
“Throwing rocks at glass houses is also not the way to portray such a great university. Treating someone like they don’t matter after giving your heart and soul to your university?

Bob Huggins quit over his recent DUI charge after previously being in the hot seat
“You could have helped, but you chose to turn your back. Not only on him, on the guys, the staff, the boosters. Everyone.
‘You are the classless, the cowards, the backstabbers and above all the hypocrites. Do you remember the $24 million practice facility, which was in no way funded by the University?
‘The 17 million in your hospitals for cancer research? I can only pray that you never make another mistake like the one you made in the past for which you were crucified. Cue State of Ohio. Listings down 30%, mountains of debt and much more to list. Do your assigned job and bring WVU back.
Jacque went on to claim that the school gave Huggins a 30-minute ultimatum to quit or get fired, and explained why he had many empty beer cans in his car.
“He told Gordon and his board that he would be in rehab for 60 days so he could stay for these guys,” his message continued. “Guys who don’t want to play for anyone else. That’s how much he cares. Turned down. Not even considered. 100% not without thinking.
‘Also given 30 MINUTES to decide whether he was fired or retired. But they want to preach this society of understanding and compassion. I haven’t passed the bar but I’m pretty sure there are strict laws against it. Once a mountaineer, always a mountaineer, right?
“Then the ‘beer cans all over the car’ cans were in bags and not all beer cans, there’s a little group in Morgantown that knows my dad collects cans for recycling. Always, always will be. It’s his thing.
“Acting like he’s driving while beating beers the way the media wants to portray him is absolutely absurd.” The society in this world we live in does not always tell the truth.

Huggins recently sparked outrage by using a homophobic slur during a radio show appearance
“The media will tell you what they want you to believe or what they want you to know. This choice is of course up to you to accept or not, but just know that it is not always factual. It’s easy to judge a person from the outside by looking inside.
According to the City of Pittsburgh’s Public Safety Blotter, police “observed a black SUV … in the middle of the road, blocking traffic” with the driver’s side door open and showing a “flat, shredded tire.”
Officers asked Huggins to move the car off the road to help with his flat tire, but he struggled to move the car to get other vehicles past.
As a result, police flashed their headlights and, after questioning him, believed he was intoxicated.
Huggins failed standard field sobriety tests and was taken into custody without incident.
He was charged with impaired driving and released with an order to appear at a later date for a preliminary hearing.
Whoever coaches the Mountaineers next, he’ll have to put on big shows to succeed Huggins and the 345 wins he’s racked up since 2007.
The 345 wins are enough to list Huggins with the second most wins in school history.
This isn’t Huggins’ first DUI incident. He was previously arrested while serving as head coach at the University of Cincinnati in 2004.

Huggins had previously been charged with a DUI while coaching at the University of Cincinnati
Huggins has come under fire this offseason for issues prior to that DUI — when he was caught on a radio show in Cincinnati using homophobic slurs.
Speaking on Bill Cunningham’s radio show on WLWHuggins referenced an era that rivals Xavier fans[threw] rubber penis on the floor, then [said] they didn’t, by God they can get away with anything”.
After the radio host joked that it was supposed to be a ‘transgender night’, Huggins then said, ‘It was a shootout in Crosstown, yeah, no, what it was was all those f**s, these Catholic f**s I think’ before joking that they threw those things away because ‘they were envious they didn’t have them’.
Huggins later apologized for his words and West Virginia punished him. He was fined $1 million by the school and suspended for the first three games of the upcoming 2023-24 college basketball season.
