Bob Geldof has unleashed a scathing attack on Donald Trump, calling the presidential candidate a “despicable b****”.

The 73-year-old Irish singer and activist pulled no punches when sharing his thoughts on the US election on The Project ahead of his Australian tour next year.

Americans will go to the polls this week to decide who will be their next president: give Trump a second term or Kamala Harris make history as the first female president of the United States.

“I have no problem with Harris, but it will be Trump who wins and that is “It’s indescribably terrifying,” Geldof told the panel Sunday after a segment on the election.

—That clown you just showed is a horrible man. He really is a horrible, terrible person.

“So he gets elected president of the most powerful country – everything that happens here, everything that happens in the UK depends.”

Geldof added that instability around the world could get worse or better under the next US president.

Referring to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, he said: “Now we have a brute invading Europe, beating up a people who just want to be free.”

About Trump (pictured), Geldof said:

Of Trump (pictured), Geldof said: “He’s a crook, he’s broke.” His entire business life has been based on debt.

‘There is horror in Palestine. “There is absolute horror in Sudan, which we don’t read about, but I wake up to 12 emails every morning, and we have this fool who is bankrupt,” he said, referring to Trump.

‘He’s a scammer, he’s bankrupt. His entire business life has been based on debt, which he then defaults on and files for Chapter 11 (bankruptcy).’

However, it was what Geldof said next that made the panel laugh.

“Aside from all that, the man is a despicable idiot,” he told the stunned panel.

Comedian Dave Hughes commented: “Tell us what you really think.”

Geldof continued: “Seriously, it’s really scary. I would love for that woman (Harris) to win.”

“Some people would say, ‘Look, he was president before we got through it, we’ll get to the other side.'”

“We overcame it because Covid neutralized everything and everyone and he, of course, was not able to face that situation.”

Project panelists Hamish Macdonald and Rachel Corbett (pictured) were shocked by Geldof's blunt criticism of Trump on Sunday night.

And Geldof wasn’t done yet.

‘I mean, you’re going to elect a zombie president, you know?’ said.

‘Is it funny? No, he is not… This guy is a jerk and he’s scared.
