Oregon quarterback Bo Nix was selected 12th overall in Thursday’s NFL Draft by the Broncos, the sixth quarterback selected in the first round.

Nix, 24, played five years of college football after starting at Auburn.

After three seasons there, he transferred to Oregon, where he was a Heisman finalist last season after throwing 45 touchdowns.

He finished his college career with 15,352 passing yards and 113 touchdowns through the air.

Nix, like newly drafted Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy, did not attend the draft.

Following the selections of Caleb Williams (Bears), Jayden Daniels (Commanders), Drake Maye (Patriots), Michael Penix Jr. (Falcons) and McCarthy, Nix marked the six quarterbacks selected within just the first six picks of the draft .

Nix landed in Denver after the team cut ties with Russell Wilson following a disappointing two-year partnership.

The Broncos released Wilson this offseason after trading two first-round picks (and more) to acquire him in 2022 and then giving him a five-year, $242.5 million extension.
