BMW shows off an X6 in Vantablack, the blackest of the blacks

Everyone in the automotive industry is trying to take advantage of skyrocketing SUV sales, from old brands like Ford (which essentially dumps all sedans) to old luxury holdouts such as Lamborghini, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, even Ferrari. The result is that it is harder than ever to stand out. So what did BMW do? It made an SUV that you can hardly see.


At next month's Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW will show a one-off version of the upcoming third generation X6 SUV that is completely coated with Vantablack paint, which uses carbon nanotubes to make one of the darkest fabrics on earth.
