Last week, Bunnings Warehouse launched a range of garden gnomes inspired by the hit Australian children's cartoon Bluey. The limited edition purchase was so popular that it sold out within 24 hours in some stores.

Bluey fans are outraged after seeing $19 limited-edition Bunnings garden gnomes on eBay, Etsy and Facebook Marketplace for hundreds of dollars.

The hardware store released the items last week and since then hundreds of parents and fans of the show have rushed to purchase them.

Several stores are getting a makeover this month in honor of the hit Australian children’s cartoon and the Bunnings-inspired hardware store it features. Some stores sold out of the gnomes in just 24 hours.

But some Australians have taken it as an opportunity to “mark up the price” of gnomes by up to $120 each.

One seller who sourced the four gnomes, a tote bag and Bluey merchandise priced the collection online at a staggering $20,000.

“The popularity of our Bluey product range has exceeded our expectations and we are sorry to hear that some customers have been unable to purchase a garden gnome,” Bunnings merchandise director Jen Tucker told FEMAIL.

‘We are working hard to bring more gnomes to our six Australian stores that have been transformed into Hammerbarns and we expect them to arrive later this week, ready for customers to purchase over the weekend.

“We are incredibly disappointed to see a small number of people reselling Bluey products online at inflated prices and we do not support this behavior in any way.”

Customers have expressed their frustrations on Facebook after missing out on the Bluey garden gnomes, referred to as “husbands” in the episode “Hammerbarn.”

Others agreed that the only way to

The gnomes originally cost $19 each and there were four to collect.

Others agreed that the only way to “fix” the situation is to wait for Bunnings to restock the products.

‘People are already buying garden gnomes on eBay. Very frustrating. “We missed it because they are long gone,” wrote a woman who is part of the ‘Bluey Mums’ Facebook group.

“What Bunnings should do now is get more on shelves as soon as possible, then it would be harder for people to sell them on eBay if everyone could buy them at Bunnings and much cheaper,” another commented.

“That’s disgusting, I hope no one pays for that,” said another.
