Eagle-eyed Bluey fans have finally discovered the era of Bandit, the patriarch of the beloved Blue Heelers cartoon.
Viewers took to social media to share that they had discovered that Bandit is 45 years old.
The crucial detail was revealed in a brief scene during the ‘Browny Bear’ mini episode that was released last week.
In the segment, Bandit’s driver’s license can be seen with the date of birth October 25, 1978.
He also reveals that his full name is Bandit Custard Heeler.
Since the show first debuted in 2018, fans have been wondering the age of Bandit, who is father to seven-year-old Bluey and five-year-old Bingo.
Both child characters have only had one birthday on the show in six years, causing fans to ask on X (Twitter) the exact year the show takes place.
“On Bluey’s official Twitter account, can we confirm what year the show takes place?” one frustrated viewer begged.
This despite Bandit’s driver’s license saying it was issued in 2022 and will expire in 2025.

Bluey, which is streaming on Disney+ in the US, narrowly edged out competition including House of the Dragon, Grey’s Anatomy and Family Guy.
The Australian cartoon was also the second most streamed show in the United States in 2023, just behind the legal drama Suits.

The cartoon stays true to its blue roots and is packed with “good morning” greetings and unmistakably Australian phrases like “show us your thongs, muffin!”
